To Be Released Fall 2007 Dr. Schafer's book shares his knowledge, expertise, successes and failures with those that may be contemplating liposuction.

The book is to guide you through the basics of liposuction, evaluates various techniques and shares patient before and after photos as well as personal stories.

Meet the Estheticians

Skincare is an integral part of our spa services here at New Image Cosmetic Surgery and Spa. We have two Licensed Estheticians on staff to look after all of your skincare needs:

Melissa Bonet, L.E., and Betsy Colarusso, L.E., are both highly qualified in the field of Esthetics. Both are fully trained and experienced in the latest medical modalities and bring a personal touch to each client they work with to ensure your questions are answered and a unique protocol for treatment and home care is designed for each client. From London to Coronado – Questions and Answer Session

"How did you hear about us?"

"We 'Googled' SmartLipo and your practice's name came up. We watched a news clip of Dr. Schafer performing SmartLipo on a patient and was very impressed by his expertise."

"Did you conduct further research on other practices/doctors in your area and abroad? What did you find?"

"We did extensive research on SmartLipo in our area, trying to find a qualified physician in England. We found them (England) to be extremely conservative, only willing to remove about 1 ½ liters of fat. Also, they performed the tumescent technique without suction, so we knew it would take a lot longer to see the results. They (England) also used the larger cannula so the scarring on the "after" patients looked pretty bad. Finally, the other facilities performed the surgery under general anesthesia. Dr. Schafer seemed to be more results oriented, and was willing to go the extra mile to ensure patient satisfaction. Also, Dr. Schafer seemed to be more experienced in the field of lipo-sculpture.

"So what was the deciding factor for you and your fiancé?"

"We decided if we were going to do it, we might as well do it right. We wanted maximum benefit for our time and a qualified surgeon that was world re-known to perform the surgery. After all of our research we decide on Dr. Schafer. I'm actually thinking about coming back and having some (surgery) done on myself next year."

Cynosure, the manufacturer of Smartlipo, has chosen Dr. Schafer to be the guest speaker at the annual conference on liposuction in Dubai. At the meeting, Dr. Schafer will present the Smartlipo technology and lecture to thousands of Doctors on his experience and successes with the new state of the art technology.

Lipomassage

Lipomassage by Endermologie is a new technique used to effectively treat cellulite and fatty deposits in different areas of the body. Lipomassage cellulite treatments target specific areas of loose skin and unbalanced fat deposits, such as on the hips, thighs, buttocks and abdomen when dieting and exercise alone won't fix the problem. A technician will determine your treatment objectives: to streamline or reduce the area, shape or condition. The machine is used to sculpt, sand or plane cellulite by adapting the action and direction of the rollers. This is different from regular Endermologie, which targets areas of adhesions, scar tissue, and lumpy fat deposits that can be left after liposuction. The Lipomassage is used exclusively to rid the appearance of excess fat and cellulite leaving a smoother, more toned overall finish.

Diane Caruso

Diane Caruso R.N. has joined our spa staff as a Consultant/Nurse. Diane has a BS in Nursing as well as a MBA and is a Nurse Network Director for the Institute of Aesthetic Medicine which provides aesthetic medical education and training for professionals who support physicians. She has most recently been the nurse educator/specialist at Pure Medical Spa/Lummity Med Spa in Temecula. Diane will be helping to promote our spa as well as providing training to the RN's and Estheticians in the areas of consulting, injections and laser treatments. Her main focus is in working with our patients to ensure they receive the best advice and treatment possible.
